Robb Hendershot Maker Micro-Grants
At the untimely passing of Robb Hendershot, we honor him through continuing to work with the community to create more opportunities for makers and others who want to become makers. Perhaps, through a small push or nudge, someone realizes they can become unstuck from their mindset. They may now be able to see past that challenge keeping their project unfinished or idea unexplored. Or they now have the courage to ask for help….. and find an entire community waiting for them.
It is here, at this moment, where they start to understand that they can overcome their fear of the unknown, they are not alone and there are people who share their passion for whatever it is they are working on and realize, finally….. that they, too, are a maker.
Robb helped create what [i am a maker] is today and, as a board member of our nonprofit, he continued to strive to give more opportunity for youth and adults to create. Included in this was also reducing barriers that keep people from making.
We have created a fund to provide micro-grants to support Colorado makers and their projects. Eligible individuals are residents of the state of Colorado and may include youth (with a parent or guardian authorizing and representing) and adults either with or without specialized skills or knowledge or who would like to gain new knowledge or skills. Grants also may be awarded to pay for a workshop or other course of study of a creative nature.
To apply for a micro-grant, please send an email to Karen Corliss.
To donate to the fund, you can do that below. Your donation is tax-deductible and directly supports a Colorado maker.
If you have any questions about this fund, how the donations are collected, funds awarded or anything at all about supporting makers in the local community, please reach out to Karen Corliss here and thank you.
